Enhanced Tribal ID Card Processing Available for Suquamish Tribal Members
Under a new federal law, a passport or a “REAL ID” is now required for all domestic air travel. REAL ID’s include Enhanced Driver’s Licenses and Enhanced Tribal ID Cards (or ETC, for short.) That’s why the Treaty Protection office is hosting three more events to help tribal members get their cards.

What is an Enhanced Tribal Identification Card?
- Much like an Enhanced State Driver’s License; except its free for Suquamish Tribal Members.
- Card is valid for international travel between the U.S, Canada, Mexico, The Caribbean and Bermuda (by discretion of the country).
- Not the same as your Tribal ID.
Documents You Will Need for Interview
- Proof of Residency (utility bill that includes your name and address)
- Proof of Identity (birth certificate, social security, U.S. passport, State drivers’ license or ID card, etc.)
- Proof of Citizenship (birth certificate, US passport, etc.)
- Proof of Tribal Enrollment (Certification of Enrollment: request from Enrollment Office)
One short in-person interview is part of the application process. Once completed, it may take week or more to receive the card.
