WIC Program
What is the WIC Program and Who is Eligible?
WIC is a supplemental food program for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding and also includes infants and children under the age of 5. WIC is administered on a federal level, state level, and all the way down to local agencies and Tribal governments, like ours.
The Suquamish WIC staff provides services to all Suquamish Tribal Members and their families residing in Kitsap County. We also serve members of other federally recognized tribes, as long as they also reside within the Port Madison Indian Reservation.
You can find specific eligibility for Washington state including income limitations here: https://doh.wa.gov/you-and-your-family/wic/wic-eligibility

Nutrition Program
What does the Nutrition Program do?
Our Community Health Nutrition Program prioritizes nutrition by embedding it into programs throughout the Suquamish Tribe and making nutrition services available to Suquamish tribal members and our community.
We work with the Healing House Clinic, the Early Learning Center, the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Program, Wellness Program, Tribal Child Welfare Program, the Elder’s Lunch Program, as well as other Elder activities and Youth activities around the community and at the Family and Friends Center and Chief Kitsap Academy. We are also involved in planning and leadership at community health events, including Health Fairs, Lunch and Learn series, and Wisdom Warriors. Nutrition staff also provide one-on-one visits and group counseling; fill out our referral form below to start your nutrition journey.
The ultimate goal is a healthy and informed community for generations and we are consistently working on new approaches, programs, and other outreach support. Arming folks with information so they are able to make the best choices for their bodies and their families. Knowledge is power!
Applying for Nutrition consultations are simple! Just give us a call or fill out the form above to set up an appointment.
