Tribal Council seeks input on 2025 distributions
UPDATE: THIS SURVEY IS NOW CLOSED
Tribal Council is seeking Suquamish Tribal Member opinions on 2025 distributions, as discussed at the recent budget hearing.
Background: In response to General Council’s passage of enrollment expansion, Tribal Council must consider various revisions to distribution payments in the 2025 budget. These options are under consideration because the tribe now has additional members to pay, but is constrained by the same direct payment budget.
The four options under consideration are:
- Reduce all direct payments by 9%. This option would affect all quarterly Tribal Member distributions and Elder payments evenly.
- Reduce out-of-state distributions by 50%. This option would affect quarterly distributions to all out-of-state Tribal Members but would not impact Elder payments.
- Eliminate the June distribution. This option would affect quarterly distributions for all Tribal Members but would not impact Elder payments.
- Reduce June distribution by 65%. This option would affect all quarterly distributions but would not impact Elder payments.
As this decision is being weighed, Tribal Council is asking for your input. Tribal members are invited to fill out the following survey by Dec. 7. Results will be confidential and only reviewed by Tribal Council.
Thank you!
