Suquamish Tribe Beginning Weekly Vaccination Celebration Raffle July 9

In celebration and appreciation of Suquamish Tribe community members who have gotten their COVID-19 vaccination, the Suquamish Tribe will begin weekly prize drawings every Friday starting on July 9.

Suquamish Tribal members and their households, Suquamish Government staff, and PME employees who have received their COVID-19 vaccination are eligible to win.

Three prizes will be awarded each week. Prizes include a special gift basket, Eighth Generation blankets, and a night’s stay at the Clearwater Resort.

That’s about $500 worth of prizes each week!

Suquamish Tribe community members vaccinated through the Tribe’s Vaccination Clinic are automatically entered to win. That includes all youth who were vaccinated in collaboration with Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe.

If you were vaccinated somewhere else, all you need to do to enter is email your proof of vaccination to vax-incentive@suquamish.nsn.us.

Those who decide to get vaccinated can also enter by emailing in their proof of vaccination. Vaccinations are now available for free at most pharmacies.

Entries submitted by noon every Friday, or already in the drawing pool from previous weeks, will be eligible for that afternoon’s raffle.

Suquamish Tribe leaders encourage everyone who can get vaccinated to get their shots. The more people in our community who are protected from COVID-19, the safer everyone will be. Even if you’re not concerned about contracting this dangerous disease, please do it for our Elders, for our children who can’t yet get vaccinated, and those with compromised immune systems.

Suquamish Tribe “All in WA” Pandemic Assistance Eligibility

To determine if you are eligible for Suquamish Tribe’s “All in WA” pandemic assistance program, please answer the following questions:

  • Are you an Enrolled Suquamish Tribal Member and at least 18 years old OR are you the head of a household caring for a Suquamish Youth living in your home?
  • Do you reside in any of the following counties: Kitsap, Jefferson, King, Mason, Pierce, Snohomish or Whatcom county?
  • Have you been directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic?

If you answered YES to ALL the questions and have documentation to verify that your household income has been directly impacted by the pandemic, you may be eligible for COVID-19 Financial Assistance through the Human Services “All In WA” Grant.

The Suquamish Tribe has now vaccinated hundreds of Tribal members and their families. Some, however, have still not been vaccinated.

If you are a Suquamish Tribal Member, Family Member, Government Staffer, or Tribal Business Employee who has NOT yet been vaccinated, Suquamish Government health professionals would like to better understand why.

Suquamish Tribe COVID-19 Vaccine Survey

FOR SUQUAMISH TRIBAL MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES ONLY

The Suquamish Tribal Council has opted to provide the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to Tribal members who would like to receive it.

The purpose of this survey is to gauge how many people will be interested in getting the vaccine so that staff can be better prepared to distribute it.

There are only five brief questions and all responses are completely anonymous.

If you are certain others in your household won’t take the survey but you are reasonably sure of their answers, feel free to take the survey again for each person. Just click on the link you received and reanswer all the questions.

The Moderna vaccine requires two shots in order to receive full protection. The second shot must be given a month after the first. Both shots will be administered by Tribal staff on Port Madison Indian Reservation.

When both doses are taken, the Moderna vaccine provides 95 percent protection against COVID-19. Most side effects are a good sign that the vaccine is working as intended.

The Tribal Council is seeking applications from Tribal members for appointment to Executive Board positions that are up on December 31, 2020. To apply for appointment, please complete the following form.

You may also submit letters of interest to Rebecca Purser, Tribal Council Executive Assistant, by mail at PO Box 498, Suquamish WA 98392, or by email to BoardsCommissions@Suquamish.nsn.us. This form and any supporting material must be submitted by the end of business on December 4, 2020.

Current board and commission members whose terms are expiring should also complete this process if you would like to renew your term.
